Week-by-week of what to expect — and when to stop worrying.

  1. Week 1
    Maximum swelling, tightness, low energy. Move slowly, sleep often.
  2. Week 2
    Bruising fades. You start feeling human. Don't over-do it.
  3. Week 3–4
    Return to desk work for most. Light activity OK with clearance.
  4. Week 6
    Most restrictions lift. Scars are still red and raised — normal.
  5. Month 3
