First 72 Hours

The first 72 hours decide a lot. Here's what matters.

  1. Hour 0–6
    Rest. Hydrate. Stay ahead of pain — don't wait for it to spike.
  2. Hour 6–24
    Short, slow walks. Compression on as instructed. Sleep propped if required.
  3. Day 2
    Swelling typically peaks. Bruising spreads — that's normal, not regression.
  4. Day 3
    Showering window often opens. Check incisions. Track output if applicable.
